Communicating about PureDarwin

Postby _sjc_ » Fri Jun 08, 2018 1:20 pm

I thought I’d start a suggestions thread about ways in which those involved with PureDarwin can better communicate with the community. If you’re reading this then you obviously have an interest in Darwin. What can we do to help you out and get you involved?

Here are a few (obvious) suggestions to start with:

Give us something to play with

I don’t think I’m giving anything away if I say this is firmly in progress.

Show us the code

Okay, we could be doing a bit better here. While we have our main repo at https://github.com/PureDarwin, there is also code collected in the personal repos of contributors. (I know I’m guilty of this.) We’re working on bringing everything together in one place.

Show us what the project is up to

I’m thinking of a status page, showing what works, what we’re working on, and what we need help with.

Well, those are my suggestions. What are yours?

Yes we do but it seems like everyone wants money to help with the project since the major projects are real hardware kernel extensions(KEXTS) for ACPI and such. So if you know of people that would like to help that'd be great.
